Part 1 - Celuwazi’s Comunity Center: The Beginning of Something New
Since 2014, the Celuwazi Cluster Group in Msinga, South Africa has been faithfully serving children in their community—providing meals through Zimele support and their own personal savings. For some of these children, it’s the only substantial meal they receive each day.
This is where it started - the Zimele women made this shelter to distribute food to the children.
But over time, the group began to imagine something more. What if there was a place not only to provide food—but also a space where children could gather, learn, and grow after school?
Dreaming of a place for their community.
With that vision in mind, 31 women from the Celuwazi group began to dream BIG . They set out to build a community center: a place that would might include a garden, a basketball court, and a safe, welcoming environment for children.
Because of the group’s long standing work and service in the community, the women have gained immense trust and confidence and the larger community has come alongside to help realize this dream. With the local chief’s permission and a generous family’s donation of a small plot of land, they got to work.
The first step wasn’t easy. The land was covered in large rocks, and before anything could be built, the entire area had to be cleared by hand. Slowly and steadily, the women, children and neighbors worked together to prepare the ground.
Then, brick by brick, the foundation began to take shape.
Construction is underway—but already, something meaningful is rising. This community center represents more than a building. It is a reflection of commitment, vision, and a deep desire to invest in the next generation.
This is just the beginning...
